Step away from modern life and immerse yourself in a winter adventure in the Norwegian wilderness. Up here it doesn't matter what day it is - it's what you do with it that counts!

As soon as you meet our gorgeous dogs you will be captivated. They will whisk you across some of the most beautiful and rugged wilderness scenery in the world and by the end of your holiday you will be tempted to sneak them into your luggage!!

We specialise in small group holidays with a maximum of 6 people. During your stay you will learn how to master your own sled and team of dogs with tuition from our expert mushers.

We believe in treating our customers as individuals so whether you are coming for a weekend or a whole week you can depend upon a warm welcome and personal service. So if you would like to know more about our trips or to decide which one is best for you get in touch!

Make 2012 special by doing something incredible!!

Here at Kavanagh Young we use a rare breed of dogs known as Greenland dogs. In the UK there are less than 100 of these dogs and in even in Norway there are less than 600!

The Greenland dog is revered in the mushing world for it's tenacity, strength of character and physical toughness. It was Greenland dogs which first took Peary to the North Pole and Amundsen to the South Pole. So a prodigious history for an incredible dog which can work all day long, sleep outside at -50C and be happy to go back to work the next day.

What many people don't realise however is just how affectionate these cuddly teddy bears are. They love to have their tummies tickled and they quickly get to know guests.

At Kavanagh Young our dogs have quite an easy life working a maximum of 5 days each week with plenty of food ... and of course affection from both the guides and guests.
